How to Use Surface must be clean, dry and free from oil, grease, release agents, dust and loose material. Install backing rod to correct depth apply masking tape as required. Cut the end of the sausage or cartridge, fit with nozzle and insert into a Selleys caulking gun. Extrude sealant into the joint such that it is in full contact with the sides of the joint. Avoid overlapping of sealant to eliminate entrapment of air. Smooth sealant with spatula forcing the sealant into the joint for better contact with the sides.
Painting with water based paints is possible after curing. If solvent based paints are used; prime first with water based primer. Limitations:
- *Suitable for most water-based paints. For oil-based paints undercoat with water-based primer. Testing recommended if paint is applied more than 5 days after the sealant application.
Handy Tips - Apply between 5C and 30C.
- For easier gunning store product at approximately 20C prior to use in cold weather.
- Good adhesion properties to building materials indicated without priming. Pre-test to ensure adhesion is suitable.
Clean Up - Uncured material can be cleaned up with mineral turps.
- Cured sealant can be cut with a sharp blade
